Rowdy is the mascot of the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) in USA. He is an animal mascot anthropomorphic bird called roadrunner, a fast-running bird that has a long tail and a crest and also called a chaparral bird and a chaparral cock.
He was chosen as the official mascot of UTSA in 1977 defeating the armadillo in a student election for the University mascot. His appearing as a supporter of athletics and other university sponsored events for the UTSA.
